StealthTech Systems has joined forces with the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) to advance accessibility across retail checkouts with the launch of its patented Braille screen overlay. LONDON, UK — July 2026 — StealthTech Systems, an international leader in point-of-sale hardware and security design, has joined forces with the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) to advance accessibility across retail checkouts with the launch of its patented Braille screen overlay. Following rigorous assessment, the tactile solution has received formal recognition from RNIB and full technical approval from global payment technology provider Verifone.

As flat-panel touchscreens increasingly replace physical keypads, millions of blind and partially sighted individuals face significant hurdles when entering confidential PINs independently. StealthTech Systems' custom overlay restores autonomy and transaction privacy at the point of sale by mapping precision-molded Braille and tactile boundaries directly over touchscreen interfaces without compromising optical clarity or capacitive sensitivity.

Working alongside RNIB's accessibility specialists, the solution was evaluated to meet demanding user-experience criteria for blind and visually impaired consumers. Concurrently, Verifone validated the hardware integration across its leading countertop and mobile terminal fleets, confirming seamless touch performance, security standard alignment, and zero disruption to daily transaction flows.

"Independent payment should be an accessible right for everyone, not a logistical obstacle," said an executive spokesperson at StealthTech Systems. "Collaborating with RNIB ensured our engineering met the practical needs of the community, while Verifone's approval provides retailers and hospitality operators the confidence to deploy across enterprise estates immediately."

The approved tactile overlay is available now for enterprise rollout across the UK, Europe, and international markets.
